Conveyor Tear Down and Replacement

GBI wrapped up a milestone project within our emerging Industrial division this last June.  The scope included tear down and replacement of a 50+ year old elevated coal conveyor system.

GBI was contracted to Wolf Point Engineers to complete the work at OG&E's power generating station in Red Rock, OK.  Several two-crane lifts took place, both on land and over water, with some conveyor sections weighing more than 175,000 pounds!

The team worked round the clock and faced several challenging obstacles during this two-month outage, including the emergence of the COVID pandemic. Through hard work and finding a way to win, they still delivered a monumental product that will help provide energy for millions of Americans.

GBI's Project Manager JP McAlvain summed up the pride felt by the entire team with the observation, "At Great Basin we're more than Industrial, we're a Nation."
